“Tell me one last time exactly what you’re going to do.” Phil said, straightening the woolen hat on Tommy’s head.
“We’re going to go to the village and we’re going to get some bread, then we’re going to look at the market, then we’re going to come home.” Wilbur said - for the third time that morning - and his words satisfied their father. With a quiet hum, Phil smiled.
“Techno, Tommy, Wilbur is in charge today. You stay where he can see you at all times, hold each other’s hands, stay safe. If you aren’t back in three hours, I’m coming to get you.”
“Dad, you can’t come, you know that.” Technoblade said, frowning at his father. “You’ll ruin the surprise.”
“I promise, I won’t look at whatever you boys buy at the market, but it’s my job to keep you safe. I’m trusting Wilbur and I’m trusting that you’ll be helpful looking after Toms.”

“Thanks for coming to visit, Wil.” Tommy said, hands shoved in his pockets as the pair wandered the streets of London. It was a cold afternoon, and the grass in the park they walked through was tickled with frost. Everything sparkled under the sun’s weak rays: it was undeniably beautiful.
“Saves on postage.” Wilbur shrugged, the motion causing the baby girl in his arms to let out a little giggle.
“She likes you.” Tommy pointed out.
“Told you Uncle Wilby was the best.” Wilbur smirked in response, with Tommy rolling his eyes in response. One time - it was one time he’d slipped up - and he’d never live it down. Still, he supposed if Willow called him Uncle Wilby it would be a little less annoying.

“You’ve really never seen snow?”
“Not in person.”
George had raised his eyebrows at Sapnap’s response, but stayed quiet. When Sapnap asked what he was typing, he’d told him not to worry about it. He’d planned to wait at least a few days before sending his gift to Sapnap, but he couldn’t help himself.
Sapnap spluttered helplessly as he stared at the plane tickets, and George couldn’t stop himself from grinning ear to ear. He hoped he wasn’t blushing - but he supposed if he really wanted to keep his feelings hidden he shouldn’t have forked out hundreds of pounds on plane tickets just because Sapnap hadn’t seen snow.

It hadn’t taken as much as Skeppy had expected to convince Bad to go away with him for Christmas. He’d expected to have to put up a fight, but Bad had simply hummed and agreed that it would be a good idea. They’d planned their trip together, finding flights that had them arriving in Washington (the state, not the city, Bad had been sure they’d both gotten that bit right) at the same time. When they arrived, they’d been giddy and excited - Skeppy had hardly stopped talking, and Bad had barely let go of his hand. He only, reluctantly, let go when he had to sign the papers for the car rental.

Dream smiled to himself as he sat at his kitchen table, Christmas songs playing in his headphones and Patches contentedly lapping milk from a saucer in arms reach. He didn’t just like Christmas, he loved Christmas. It was - by far - Dream’s favourite holiday. Now that he was successful on Twitch and YouTube he enjoyed it all the more, his income meant he was more than capable of giving back to those he loved, those that supported him, and the wider community.

“Right, rules.” Dream said, settling into the sofa on Sapnap’s right and removing the cap off a bottle of beer. He sniffed at the smell cautiously - he wasn’t a big drinker, none of them were - but given that the three of them were finally together the idea of getting drunk was a little more appealing. Who knew what would happen? Who would even remember?
Well, Sapnap would.
“I still can’t believe you’re doing this.” He grumbled. “It’s not fair, I can’t drink.”

Summary
Moving back to England for a year had been the best decision Dream and George had ever made. Both George and Dream had elected for dual citizenship in the UK and the US, and that meant it was easier for the two of them to move back and forth freely and give Lily the life they wanted for her: to experience the cultures of both countries and to spend equal time with her grandparents.
Every day with Lily was a wonder, and every day brought happiness to the two men, but Dream had to admit there was something particularly special sitting on small, red plastic chairs with George at his side, their phones recording as the thirty nursery children were paraded out onto the makeshift stage in the school hall.

Since Phil had first taken in Wilbur, he’d gone the extra mile to make Christmas as magical as possible. He doubled down on his efforts when Technoblade had joined their family, and now Tommy had arrived he’d tried even harder. Every year became bigger than the last, with the family decorating the home together and spending the cold winter nights by the fire, admiring the tree and cherishing time with each other. They all knew what it was like to be alone, and that made Christmas all the more special.
This year was no different by that measure, though it was nothing like the years that had come before. Rather than have a small get together with family, Phil had decided for one night to throw a party.

“Everything ready?” Tubbo asked, looking over his shoulder to see Tommy giving him a thumbs up, and Willow clapping her hands together excitedly.
“I think that’s a yes. Right, I’m hitting the button.” Tubbo clicked down on the trackpad of his laptop, waiting a few seconds for everything to load, before smiling and stepping back. “We’re on! It’s good, I think. I’ll hang about for a second and wait to see what chat’s saying, make sure the audio is okay.”
As it turned out, a lot of what chat was saying was based on the fact that Tubbo was at Tommy’s house, and the rest was almost entirely just awws at the sight of Tommy and Willow.

Herobrine and Eret were, in their own right, Gods. Their mother and father had been Gods, and their powers had been passed down to them. They were, however, both far too young to hope to learn to control those powers for a number of years, and the world to them was very much new, hopeful, anything was possible.
At least, it had been. The world had been magical, full of promise and excitement, until the day everything had changed. Herobrine had stepped out of line, a side of their father the boys had never seen before was revealed, their mother stepped into the firing line.

Niki let out a breath, tucking her hair back behind her ear and looking over her shoulder at the Christmas tree that stood in the corner of her room. For the first time in years, she had a real tree, and really it was all thanks to Wilbur. She’d have put up her fake tree if she’d gone home for Christmas, but staying in England they’d decided to make a bigger deal of it. They’d gone out to buy a tree together and Wilbur had insisted on carrying it home - she had plenty of photographic evidence to be used as blackmail if needed - and now that the branches had settled a little it was time to decorate.

The first sign that things weren’t going well for Tommy was when he arrived home from school and hung his bag and coat up at the door without being asked. He never did that - his shoes would usually be toed off and abandoned by the door, his bag left on the floor, and his coat in a pile on the ground - so Phil was already concerned. There was no light hearted hello, no I’ve returned, family! and no cursing out of his older brothers. Instead, Phil just heard quick footsteps running upstairs, and the eventual slam of a door.

Technoblade had been fourteen when he watched the Creator gift Phil and Illumina the Nether and the Overworld. Phil had almost immediately disappeared, immersing himself in his project to entirely transform the realm he was granted, and the Overworld changed shape with every passing day. The Creator had provided the building blocks of the world, but the two young Gods poured their hearts and souls into taking those building blocks and making something complex, something beautiful, something with sentient life to be found and adventures to be had.
Technoblade was fifteen when he was given the End, although it had hardly been presented as such. The Creator had taken him deep underground, to the heart of the world and revealed a stone structure that housed a portal to the realm. Illumina had created the structure and called it a Stronghold, and the dark corridors were filled with monsters: whether they were designed to protect the portal from those trying to seek it, or defend the Overworld from people emerging, Technoblade didn’t know.

Summary
Technoblade would never deny that he was an introvert - and if he did, no one would believe him. Not that there would usually be anyone around to hear if he tried to claim otherwise, only proving the point that he was, indeed, an introvert.
It didn’t mean that he was lonely. He had plenty of friends online, he would stay in touch with his family (by text, never by call, and only by appointment in person), he just didn’t enjoy social interaction he couldn’t immediately back out of when he’d had enough. Despite that, there was always a sting of jealousy at Christmas when he realised that he was the only one of his friends not involved in a gathering of some description: the Dream Team had all finally met up in Florida; Phil, Wilbur, Tommy and Tubbo were celebrating together in the UK; even Bad had finally conceded and met up with Skeppy.

Summary
If Sapnap had known how stupid his friends were, he might never have shot them with his arrows. Every day he’d wake up to a message from at least one of them, as if the lovesick idiots had never heard of messaging each other. It was driving him utterly insane, but he took it in his stride. He couldn’t exactly ignore them since it was, technically, his fault they were in the situation in the first place.
He had a plan, though, and when he’d pulled into Dream’s drive to see the Brit had already been collected from the airport he smiled: there was no way this wasn’t going to work.

At four and a half, Lily wasn’t the most patient little girl. If she was excited about something, she wanted it immediately, she hadn’t quite grasped the idea of delayed gratification, so when the day finally came that she was going to meet her honorary cousin… Well, she hadn’t stopped talking about it. At breakfast she’d practically talked Dream and George’s ears off, at nursery she’d mentioned it at every possible moment, and by the time George had met her to walk her home she was practically jumping every step of the way.
“She’s gonna be my bestest friend forever and ever and ever!” She said, and George could only smile and nod.
“I’m sure Willow is just as excited as you are, but you have to remember that she might be a little bit shy at first. She’s younger than you, you’re going to have to be a big girl and show her there’s nothing to be afraid of.”

To Phil - watching from the warmth of his living room - there was little surprise that the snowball fight had turned so serious. In fact, he was somehow surprised it had taken so long to turn into all out chaos. Tommy had started it, because of course Tommy had started it, and he’d recruited Tubbo to his side quickly. Technoblade and Wilbur had been making snowmen, and were only pulled out of what he assumed was a detailed, technical conversation about the perfect size for the balls for the snowman’s body (to which he had no doubt Wilbur was ignoring) when two arms full of snow were dumped over their heads.

For most, the year had been rotten. Tubbo knew he was one of the lucky few that had had a good year.
