Summary
"My name is Sakusa Kiyoomi. I'm a writer for a youth newspaper in Tokyo."
Silence.
"I've heard about you from my cousin. He plays volleyball too, I saw you at the match you had with Itachiyama. I go there."
Still, Atsumu doesn't look up.
"Miya-san, I saw you play. You were incredible."
But he doesn't even blink in response. Kiyoomi sighs, leaning back into the uncomfortable plastic seat.
"I can't lie, I've come here because everyone wants to know how a national level volleyball player, someone people thought would go pro would end up arrested for murder."

OR: Sakusa Kiyoomi hears about the star setter of his cousin's volleyball circuit being arrested and decides to follow the story, hoping to understand how such a drastic turn could happen. What started out as journalistic curiosity turns into an obsession, and he unravels the true reason for the ex-setters incarceration while delving deeper in to his world in an attempt to free him from the remand home.

Summary
Miya Atsumu thinks it started on a Friday. It wasn’t anything outright, just a dull, aching feeling of “outsider.”
The sort of feeling that festers if left unchecked. It found roots in his gut and it grew into his lungs and he’s afraid it isn’t getting any better.
The ache of eighteen, they call it.

OR: Atsumu does everything he swore he wouldn't when he turned eighteen and learns that maybe his youth will meet him halfway. As does Sakusa Kiyoomi.

Summary
The All-Japan Youth Training Camp had plenty of places to run into like minded people. From the gym itself, to the cafeterias to the running routes most of the athletes passed by each other, the opportunities to find someone on the same wavelength were ample.
For Sakusa Kiyoomi and Miya Atsumu, that place was the bathroom. And in both of their minds, the same question.
"Why on earth is he taking a shower at 3 AM?"
OR: Atsumu and Kiyoomi are forced to room together at the Tokyo training camp, and both learn about each other's quirks. Somehow, it all works out.

Summary
"The thing about sweets is that they're an indulgence, Kiyo. Can't have too much of a good thing."
But Sour Patch Kids are just so good. A good thing can't be bad for him.
So Kiyoomi decides that he's the bad one. Some people just can't have good things. Can't be trusted with joy or relief or any sort of happiness. All he could do was ruin it for himself. This is what he learns when he is twelve.
OR: Sakusa Kiyoomi follows a set of rules he sets out for himself and follows them religiously. Whether it comes to washing his hands or volleyball or love, he adheres to them. He claims each rule as a truth and slowly, each one turns into a lie. He clutches the truths to his chest and with Atsumu, slowly, learns to let them go.

Summary
It's White Tiger Spirit Racing's dream scenario: ex-world champion Ushijima Wakatoshi alongside the formidable Sakusa Kiyoomi. The perfect position to steal the world championship from Blue Lotus's Oikawa Tooru. This dream crashes and burns along with Ushijima who suffers catastrophically during an on-track collision, leaving him unable to walk, let alone drive for the rest of the season.
White Tiger's hopes are now pinned on Sakusa Kiyoomi who's only ever played defence in the second seat, and paired with rookie reserve driver Miya Atsumu, who can't seem to find his footing in a car clearly not meant for him, they might as well kiss the constructor's cup goodbye. These issues are only exacerbated when it comes to light that Sakusa and Atsumu clearly have a rocky (see: utterly irreparable) relationship dating back months. If they want to salvage this mess of broken pieces- it precariously hinges on the seemingly impossible situation where these two figure out how to get along.
If you're not religious, it might be time to pick a god and pray.
