She really had no business being on this mission, other than you know orders and the near fatal mistake of losing a bet to the wonder twins. Well losing a bet to Clint and getting stuck with this crap shoot of an assignment in farming country in Nebraska. Darcy huffed again and shifted in her seat in the old Ford pickup truck they had borrowed. The seat creaked beside her and she darted a glance towards Steve in the driver's seat hands clenching and unclenching on the wheel.

Summary
Darcy and Steve attempt to have a lazy morning in bed. The world has other ideas. Steve's phone rings with a call to assemble and Darcy is left alone in Steve's apartment. Five days later, she isn't counting, Darcy has an assignment of her own, with her very own small team. It's an easy assignment, go in, get the file, and get out again. Total piece of cake. Only it isn't and things go wrong rather rapidly.

Summary
While Captain America is off on a training mission Darcy has a normal day at the office. Or as normal a day as any day is when working for the man...or you know a semi super secret government organisation. Brand new assignment in hand agent Lewis is off under Sitwell's command. Things don't quite go as planned, and they are running for their lives far sooner than Darcy hoped.

Relationship. It was the first time she’d really put a label on what was between them. There was a weight to the word that should have scared her, should have sent her running off home. Running back to the girl she was, running after a half mad astrophysicist hyped up on coffee and sugar in the New Mexico desert. The world was a different place now than it was two years ago, she was a different person. Darcy didn’t scare easily anymore. Most of the time anyway.
