Ryan all but collapsed on the bed nearest to him, rubbing a hand over his forehead as he tried to stay awake. He knew he was being rude by not offering to take the cot, but it felt so good to lay on that bed- as shitty and lumpy as it was. Ryan closed his eyes, and he was half asleep already when he felt the bed shift under the weight of another person. He looked over to see Shane sitting on the other side of the bed, leaning over and untying his boots.
Ryan’s stomach dropped as he realized he’d be sharing a bed with Shane. He should’ve put it together much sooner, considering they were the co-hosts and the closest pair of the group, but Ryan moved through his day at such a fast pace that he didn’t slow down and think about the little details, like who’d he be sleeping inches away from that night. Oh, well. He’d have to stuff down his awful, hideous, sappy, romantic feelings for Shane and be normal, just for one night.
