Summary
After the war, Hogwarts offers one final year to rebuild, reflect, and begin again. Hermione Granger returns as Head Girl, ready for a quiet year of study and healing—until she learns she’ll be sharing her quarters with Draco Malfoy.
He’s withdrawn, different from the boy she remembers, but the tension between them hasn’t disappeared. If anything, it’s burning hotter than ever.
Thrown together in the aftermath of everything they’ve lost, Hermione and Draco must navigate fragile truces, reluctant partnership, and a growing connection neither expected.
Enemies. Survivors. Something more?
Some embers were never meant to die out. -

Summary
At this point, after everything that had happened, being a proper prefect was a bit of a difficult task. There was something to be said about the trauma, the sleepless nights that led to exhausted days, the things that cause one to just want to be left alone, and therefore not bother with much of the duties expected of them if they can get away with it. But that usually wasn’t what Hermione sighted first when attempting to analyze just why she seemed to have so much trouble following the rules. The real reason, if she had to place one, was simply that she’d spent so long causing trouble for the sake of the greater good, that she couldn’t help but map out each and every perfect path to getting away with the smallest bends.
That being said, she’d yet to be caught, and it was boosting her confidence a bit too much. With every slip of her judgment, looking the other way upon catching third years sneaking in Weasley's Wizard Wheezes contraband, or “forgetting” to confiscate cheat sheets from fifth years going into their O.W.Ls, she realized more and more that the professors were counting on Prefects to keep Hogwarts in order more than she’d initially thought. And the more she began to have ideas for her own mischief.Series
