Summary
Dream is an obsessive lover who falls too deeply in love with his partners and makes unreasonable demands. Which is why no relationship he’s had has ever last longer than a week for him. Desire is someone everyone wants to fuck but not be with. They just desperately want to be loved whole heartedly by someone.
The two meet and now have an established relationship most would call unhealthy, toxic, and even abusive but balances perfectly for them. However, one day Desire gets in an accident and loses their memory.
Now Dream is trying to resist the urges they both once indulged in until Desire's memories come back and Desire is sure he/she was in a mentally, emotionally, abusive relationship with an insane man and is trying to find a way out.

Long ago, since Dream had rejected Desire's love, they had created a figure, Hallucination, who looked exactly like him. Then they abandoned their own creation because they knew it wasn't Dream. Hallucination had been waiting for billions of years to get revenge on Desire, and he finally had a chance.Series

Summary
Desire is always fucking with Dream because they are bitter exs and Desire is pissed that Dream left them without any explanation.
In fact they didn't even really break up Dream just started acting as if they were never together to begin with and Desire was really in love.

Dream thought they were just blowing off stem together and eventually just stopped after a while because he was too busy with work and sex isn't high on his priority list. He never realized they were together to begin with. Which is why he can't understand why Desire keeps fucking with his love life.

Everyone just confused why Dream is being so weird to his spouse Desire and Desire is hurt by the sudden attitude change and afraid they did something again they don't know is wrong.
Also Dream can't get over the fact that apparently everyone has a better life in the world where he and Desire end up together.
