Summary
When the house of Fëanor is banished to Formenos after Fëanor points a sword at Fingolfin, Finwë doesn't go into exile with his eldest son, as many in Tirion thought he would do. Instead, he spends years planning how to put an end to the feud between Fëanor and Fingolfin, and comes to the conclussion that the best way to do it is to arrange a family dinner and announce his intention to marry Fëanor's eldest son to Fingolfin's eldest daughter without consulting anyone beforehand. Will his plan work, or will it just break the family further?

Nolofinwe is there with them, experiencing growing pains as he comes of age.

Sauron was afraid of her. I don’t think they were allies. I think she’s something more terrible than any being, even Moringotto, could ally with.)

Three weeks. It has been three weeks.
Three weeks since Míriel left for Lórien, three weeks since she had lay down, three weeks since— she had lain down, and then—she is—gone. She is gone, and Finwë is—
Well, he has not faded yet.
He cannot fade. He must stay strong. For their son. He cannot leave their little Fëanáro too. No matter how much Finwë feels he cannot go on, he knows he must. If not for himself then for Fëanáro, at least until he has strength to live for himself again. She would want him to live.
But it has been three weeks, and Finwë feels as if he is stumbling blindly through some cruel dream.
