Heyyy fellow ao3 people! So basically this story is about Circe and Hermes, after Odysseus leaves Circe’s island. Honestly, I have no clue if this even is EPIC or greek mythology in general, but I love this ship sooo why not? Anyways, yes this is hugely inspired by the circe book by madeline miller. Honestly, the plot is going to be a bit random but hope you will bare with me! Also note that i’m not the best author so forgive me if there are any writing errors or in accuracies. Odysseus felt as though he had miscounted the steps on a staircase, treading into nothing and landing unfortunately, the impact ringing all up his body. He hardly had any time to feel the dread of it before his mouth was moving, because Telemachus had sounded so small like this, and he was looking up at his father now, his eyes glassy and shining in the moonlight, and Odysseus could not deny him this small reassurance.
“I promise,” he said. And then, because he realised the sort of vice this put him in, he added: “Until the day I die, I will be at your side, son.”
This, too, was something a prince should know: that no life lasted forever, and that he would one day need to rule alone. Odysseus tried not to think about how he’d said it only to avoid making false promises, to avoid lying, a frantic creature clinging to a precipice, its claws already slipping.

You and your brother in law joined a ship's crew in searched of your adopted son (who is also your Brother in Law's son). Though one day on the sea a very heavy storm hits and you get end up getting washed overboard. When you wake up you find yourself on an island you never seen or heard of before which makes you quite flabbergasted. On that island you meet the main inhabitants, Circe and the Nymphs who are her adopted children. At first your meeting with Circe was rocky, but once she started officially trusting you and the both of you got to know one another you realised that you had a lot of things in common when it came to having found families and doing anything to protect them. With you there you became like a second mom to the nymphs and help support, raise, and protect them. After awhile of you being really close friends with Circe your friendship evolves into something much more beautiful, genuine love. At the same time your trying to find where your adopted son disappeared to and you had no idea what was coming next.
