Summary
Grief is a funny thing. Yes, THAT kind of funny. Tim has always rationalized it as a fugue state, a fever dream, a waking nightmare that you can learn to control if you can find the right words, the right joke. It's like casting a spell, really. Mundane magic. Laughter is the only way to snatch lucidity back from the monsters that haunt you, both real and unreal. It's the only thing that keeps them from devouring you.
But as he watches the wax museum burn, as he cradles the corpse of the man he hated beyond all reason in his arms, as he comes to terms with the fact that he's alive and Daisy is dead, Danny is dead, Sasha is dead, Jon is...he just can't find the punchline.
or; the archivist and co. navigate grief, love, and the eventual eyepocalypse in search of a better future

Summary
You find yourself in a precious garden, being the party guest to a very curious man with shining green eyes that serves you delicious tea, sandwiches and desserts, while telling you an interesting love story:
Jon plummets to the past or maybe an alternate reality. Here, memoryless, he finds the only person he has any recollection of: Jonah Magnus.
As Jon rediscovers his powers, learns and teaches Jonah about the Dread Powers, he would find himself in a slow simmer relationship with the man, while trying to navigate the Victorian Era, or something akin.

Summary
"The brain had its own food on which it battened, and the imagination, made grotesque by terror, twisted and distorted as a living thing by pain, danced like some foul puppet on a stand and grinned through moving masks. Then, suddenly, time stopped for him. Yes: that blind, slow-breathing thing crawled no more, and horrible thoughts, time being dead, raced nimbly on in front, and dragged a hideous future from its grave, and showed it to him. He stared at it. Its very horror made him stone."
-Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray
In the end, The Watcher's Crown, while not the apotheosis that Jonah was hoping for, turns out to be...something else.

Summary
The sudden, damp cold on the back of Martin's neck jolts him out of his planning, and his shoulders drop down from around his ears. It shouldn't be a relief, he should still be looking out for breaches in the Institute's security, but somehow the fact that he knows who it is makes it seem less pressing.

Summary
But reality was a lot harsher than dreams. He admitted that to himself now, as he gently moved a piece of hair from Jon’s unblinking eye. Daisy Tonner was dead. Sasha James was dead. Daniel Stoker was still dead, or disappeared, or whatever woe begotten fate had befallen him at the hands of that wretched circus.
And here was Tim. Alive. And forced to deal with the fallout.
