He lied motionless in some dark watery cave. The smell of salt water and rot thick and choking his senses. He wanted to get up and wring out his clothes and go home to his dorm and warm up under his electric blanket. But he couldn’t move. He thought he might be paralyzed.
As he gained more awareness of his surroundings he noticed a single lit candle near his head. The red wax dripping from it imitated blood.
Something was supposed to happen.
What was he doing in a cave?
The sound of dripping water and howling wind in the distance was starting to get to him. The more he paid attention to it, it started to sound like heavy footsteps sloshing through the water.
