Summary
Roy Bear had watched Roy Kent on TV, Chelsea's Premier League win, wedged between Jamie and Georgie. Roy Bear had been distinctly unimpressed when she watched him yell at a ref after being given a red card. Roy Kent was just another angry man. Jamie did not need another angry man in his life. Poster Roy did not agree, of course, the idiot. Ever since he had gotten signed, all Poster Roy would do is wax lyrical about Roy Kent’s smile, deep voice, his gentle hands and the strokes of his pen. Traitor.

Summary
Roy’s gaze snaps up from where he’s been staring in the mirror at his reflection, at his bloody nose and his black eye, at the countless bruises on his torso. He runs a hand lightly down his bare chest, wincing slightly at the tender spot just below his sternum where he’d gotten the fucking wind knocked out of him.
It’s so fucking stupid. He should’ve been able to defend himself. He would’ve been able to defend himself, if that fucking asshole hadn’t gone straight for his bad knee.
*****
AKA Roy comes home from the bar all bruised up.

Summary
Roy sighs heavily, his jaw still clenched from the last interaction he’d had with a particularly curious interviewer who’d somehow thought it was appropriate to call the club this late at night and ask dumb questions.
“I’m in a shit mood,” he admits, gritting his teeth.
Jamie hums thoughtfully, then smirks slightly. “No different than usual, then?”
“Jamie.” Roy’s tone is sharp, and he briefly glances at the younger man from his seat.
Jamie puts his hands up. “Jeez. Just joking.”
*****
AKA Jamie and Roy fight after a long day at Nelson Road. In reality, they’re both just stressed.

Summary
"Jamie?" the softness and worry in Roy’s voice startles himself as he kneels at the foot of the body. Lo and behold, Jamie fucking Tartt is lying crumpled (maybe unconscious) on his kitchen floor. There's a scary second where Roy considers Jamie being potentially dead, but he's able to dismiss that thought when Jamie makes a quiet whimper.
OR: Jamie gets hurt by his dad, Roy’s there for him.

Summary
Here’s the thing.
It ain’t like Jamie’s never thought – daydreamed, sometimes – about it. He’s imagined it, again and again.
What his dad’s cheek’d feel like under his fist. Turn the tables, and all that.
His mum’d told him once that ‘violence only begat violence,’ and well, his dad’d begat him, didn’t he? (Jamie’d looked up the definition, once). So it stood to reason, then, that his dad’s violence would’ve leached into Jamie, like poison in his blood, and all it meant was that one day, one day, he’d give his dad as good as he got.

Summary
“Jamie?” Roy answered on the third try.
There was no answer on the other line, no Mancunian accent to allay his fears. Dread crawled up Roy’s spine when he heard rustling, and then Jamie’s voice reached his ears, though distant and muffled.
“Get the fuck out!”
Roy hung up the phone, called 999 and prayed he wouldn’t get there too late.

“Babe, what’s going on?” she asked softly, rubbing her thumbs over his cheeks soothingly.
“Nothin’,” he tried again, but his voice cracked right in the middle of the word.
“Why are you so upset?” she asked again. “You know we meant it as a jo—”
“Well, it wasn’t fucking funny,” he exclaimed, pulling away from her. “It’s not—I’m not a fucking prostitute, I can’t—you can’t make me shag someone just ‘cause they’ve paid money to spend an evening fucking chatting at me—Rebecca can—she can send me fucking back to fucking City, I won’t—I won’t do it—I’m not—”

Summary
Yes, Ted left, but Rebecca is adamant that she is perfectly fine. (She allots herself exactly half an hour to cry each day; really, it's very professional of her, and quite convenient that she has suddenly switched to waterproof makeup.) She will get through this alone, because she is a lion, for god's sake. She is FINE.
Keeley is absolutely not convinced and decides to set a few different plans in motion in an attempt to cheer her up, and, shocking absolutely no one, the quest for Rebecca’s happiness leads her directly to Ted.
Obviously, they were best friends, but Keeley could swear that there just might be something else there, and whatever it is, Keeley Jones is going to figure. it. out.
