Summary
When it's time to race in Barcelona, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris are dominating the 2025 season, with no real rivals in sight.
Hence, the inevitable truth: even if they share the same colors, only one of them will be crowned world champion. The other, no matter how brilliant, will be remembered as champion of the defeated.
Everything becomes even more complicated when a secret torn from one of them comes to light, one that will shake both their personal and professional lives. Because the two McLaren drivers, whether they like it or not, are bound together by an invisible thread.
This is the story of how, while fighting against each other for the title, they started to fight for each other too. -

Summary
"This is the way it gets with teammates," Max had said, shrugging. The jet engine purred quietly in the background. "One of you will win. One of you will leave."
Enjoy the butterflies, Danny had famously said. You have to let it be fun, Mark had said. Oscar had touched down in Abu Dhabi and felt it in his bones — the last race, the end of the season, the championship decider. Max was right. It was Oscar's choice. It was Oscar's first championship battle. He might never get this again.
Sometimes, when Oscar stops lying to himself, he knows he wants it more than anything. Sometimes, he thinks Mark was right.
Or: Oscar Piastri, winning, and the things he didn't lose along the way

Summary
"The only thing I'm sorry for is that I loved you enough to give you this," Oscar hisses, a tear trickling down his cheek. "You knew I loved you, and you threw that in my face."
"And is it so impossible to think that I loved you too?" Lando spits back before he thinks the sentence through, and his head spins with the statement. He doesn't know if he's lying — doesn't know if he means it. All this time, he had thought that Oscar would always be there. He would win, and McLaren would be there, and Oscar would be there, and Abu Dhabi would burn bright orange, and Oscar would smile at him, bright and dizzying and happy for him.
Oscar had loved him, Lando knows this. Lando realises, horrified, cold jolting down his back, that he has never known if he loved Oscar too. If that had ever been something possible. There had been the championship, and Oscar Piastri, his championship rival, and Oscar, his teammate, his friend, his lover, before all of that. Wanting Oscar, loving him, he finds, had never been something he had to actively think about, to fight for. It just was.
After Sao Paolo 2025, Lando Norris is leading the championship.

Summary
Oscar hadn’t expected it to matter so much. He hadn’t expected him to matter so much.
And maybe that was the problem.
The closer he got to chasing the championship, the louder the whispers in his head grew.
You can’t have both. Not this. Not him. Not if you want to win.

Summary
The only thing he's ever wanted, Mark thinks to himself, is for Oscar to not repeat his mistakes.
That, and the world championship. And that one world champion.
No, Mark thinks bitterly, it was never that he wasn't hungry enough for it. He just wasn't good enough.
A Mark Webber interlude, in snapshots and regrets. History is a closed loop.

Summary
Lando is bleeding when Oscar comes in, and that really sums up their entire season.
"We are a team, and if you are not satisfied, that is our job to resolve it. If you no longer get along, it is your job to let us know so that we can deal with it, within the team. There is no winning without McLaren, no matter how good you are. Is that understood?"
"Yes," Lando forces his voice to stay soft, to not grit his words. A fucking joke, asking him to play nice when they're all strung so tight with the season they're about to snap. The way they all pretend not to care about the gap, only that the team wins the WCC. "Thank you, Andrea."
"Thank you, Lando," Andrea says, standing up and shaking his hand. "Good luck next week, we will see you in the factory."
Or: Lando Norris, wanting, and the things he can't have.

Summary
Oscar Piastri has a crush, and it is a big problem. When he decided to race for McLaren, he never thought that the F1 Golden Boy Lando Norris would give him the time of day. Fine by him; there was little that interested him anyway. They were too different. Except that when Oscar catches himself laughing at his teammate’s stupid jokes, completely incapable of driving his eyes away, he knows he fucked up. If Lando starts to look back… It shouldn’t matter. And when Norris crashes onto the ground, Oscar shouldn’t be the one to put his main rival back together.
Lando Norris has one goal for the 2024 season: to win as many races as possible. After years driving for McLaren, the car is finally good enough to put him in the fight. Then, he met Piastri for the first time that year. There, staring at him, is a problem. Lando did not remember Oscar looking like that. But the season is already underway, and there is nothing to be done about that. Between a fight for a championship with a friend, the press picking him apart, and bittersweet moments, Norris does not have the time to deal with whatever is going on with Piastri. Except he can’t find it in himself to let go, not even when they’re both competing for the same title.
