As is custom, they gave the baby back to the hospital, and he was sent to the Green Valley Quirkless Child Center. His first name was kept, but his surname was changed to Midoriya, branding him forever as quirkless, as nothing.
(Izuku Midoriya is quirkless, and that is a fate worse than death.)
