Johnny stared up at him with his brows furrowed. His Dad was almost always late, and a lot of times he never had the time to attend Sue’s birthday party. His sister’s seventeen already so that’s a lot of years.
“Now, before your mother…left.” His dad looked down at his own palm, staring back at Johnny with a soft frown on his face after, “We both agreed that it’s finally time for you to know the truth. Millions of miles from here, out in deep space, is the planet Viltrum... It's a cool blue oasis alone in a solar system much like our own.”
His dad told him everything that night, and Johnny could only excitedly grin how he was going to be able to fly. How he was going to be just like his Dad.
