“It still doesn’t feel real,” Caitlyn said as they walked. “That the worst is over, that we’re standing on the other side.”
A flock of starlings swept free of the cliffs, and they paused to watch them go. Caitlyn adjusted the shawl again, the same wind that kicked the surface of the water into peaks blowing the hair back from her face. Vi’s breath lodged against her ribs, like a hand over her heart.
“Maybe there is no other side,” Vi said. “Maybe it’s all one thing.”

or

Summary
"Quiet," Vi whispered in her ear. "You can cry all you want, but I won't fuck until you admit it."
"Admit what?" Her legs trembled as much as her voice. At this point, she was willing to say anything to get just one more inch of contact.
"Admit that every time you burst into my office, it's not just about sex," Vi ordered. "Admit that the reason we can't stop is something different."
"Vi." she whimpered again. “Violet, please.”
A tear escaped from the corner of her eyes, being wiped away with a kiss. Her body was at the peak of physical deprivation, and her mind was fighting against the words being said to her. Fighting against a truth her heart had known for a long time.
It was never just about sex.
"Admit it, Cait, that this... us," Vi said, giving another kiss and wiping away another stubborn tear. "It means so much more."
or Professors AU, Cait and Vi are divorced for the past two years. But what happens when they are the only professors in town during Christmas' Eve?
