Billy snorts, “what are you a baby?”
“Yes,” Max huffs and he laughs, “so tell me a story asshole.”
He is still laughing as he hums trying to think of something that will not lead to trouble if she squeals or that she has heard before. “You ever heard of a dandelion wish before?” Max shakes her head, Billy’s smile is sad as he remembers his momentary imaginary friend. “I once wished a boy into existence.”

Summary
To preface this is my first published fic. It has been uploaded in its original form before any proof writing or outsider input and editing.
When the god Zagreus was killed their spirit was returned to the world in the mortal who would come to be known as Dionysus. In a twist of fate this mere mortal would one day ascend to the very status of godhood which had been denied to them in a past life. This story is, of course, ancient history. As it now stands, the once fearsome conqueror who brought low the kingdoms of man is more a shadow of their former self than ever. Yet even now that small ember threatens to cause a blaze and burn down all that the gods of Olympus have built.
This legacy is what is given to Perseus Jackson, more his father's son than he knows. In the midst of a conflict which spells the doom of the world as we know it, Perseus must bear the burden of being his father's child, the weight of redemption, and the heavy silence of those long since gone. This story is a retelling of the original Lightning thief book with new characters, new gods, and a refreshing mix of Riordan's original style along with the author's own. Max screams, there’s hatred in her eyes, one that he is very familiar with. Sharp and wild around the edges and though they might not be related, Billy could see Neil in her eyes. Maybe he’s seeing Neil not her. God if he could see him now, with Max threatening his balls with a spiked bat. She'd probably get a pat on the back. Or maybe it’s the black abyss clinging at the edges of his vision, muscles spamming from what ever drug is now in his system. He does and he hates himself for it.-------

I'd recommend reading part 1 (Inside Out) before jumping into this one.
"Wondering when the hell he’d become such a fucking pushover, Billy reluctantly reached up and took hold of Steve’s offered hands, locking a startled yelp in his throat when the senior misjudged his own strength – or how much Billy weighed – and used way too much force to yank him to his feet. They collided with a chorus of grunts and curses, treading on each other’s feet and briefly sharing the same air.
In the next instant Billy sent Steve stumbling backwards with a reflexive shove – the sudden closeness provoking a harsh spike of anxiety within his chest despite it being Steve – and in the instant after that he was pulling the senior back towards himself, protecting the bumbling idiot from falling ass first into the fire."
