A series of essays putting entirely too much effort into understanding the organization of the PRT in the Wormverse and fixing it to better comport with political and logistical reality. I greatly enjoy Wildbow’s world and his worldbuilding for the most part, but the more I thought about the PRT, the more I realized it was broken, so this is my attempt to fix it.

Summary

There current suspect, identified by Hess herself, is Taylor Hebert: a troubled young girl with a history of delinquincy.
In order to close this case quickly, Armsmaster makes a choice. This choice gives them twenty four hours in Master/Stranger interrogation to determine if, and how, Hebert was involved in the unmasking.
A criminal and investigative drama, as the two heroes find just how wide a web they have stumbled into.

Megumi stares, transfixed in horror, as Itadori—no, his body—rises to his feet. Clawed hands shred the oversized hoodie he was wearing with easy, almost absent motions, revealing a torso littered with curse marks. Lines and curls that coalesce into simple patterns that are dizzying to look at.
Miasmic cursed energy permeates the air.
Even Okkotsu doesn’t feel like this. His cursed energy is creepy. The exact flavor you’d find in curse hotspots, just condensed and amplified into an aura that’s a weapon in itself. It raises the hair on your nape and makes your stomach drop out from under you.
This isn’t that. This is hunger.
Immense, all-devouring hunger. Hunger that could eat worlds. Hunger that’s maybe already eaten Itadori.
Hunger that’s looking straight at Megumi.
“Oh, it’s you again,” says a voice that’s deeper, yet somehow duller, than anything he’s heard from Itadori. “So that’s how it is.”
“Ryomen Sukuna,” Megumi chokes out.
Sukuna chooses to go north, but time proves itself non-linear.
