Third day of reading, envokes strong emotions and inspires me to cry and squeal (happily) and become angry at the man who raised darling David and sing the characters lullabies. -

David takes one last glance at the door and thinks about how badly he wants to rip it open and throw himself at boy behind it and… what?
Kiss him? Hug him? Sob his eyes out into his arms and confess how miserable he has been? How much he has been struggling with everything since his fath— since they were found out.
Any of those options sound like they’d help him feel better.
He should open up.
He had wanted to stop the pity party earlier, even if it didn’t last — he had wanted to get better.
Or he had wanted to want to get better, at least.
But David still isn’t sure if he deserves to feel better.
He was supposed to stay relatively sober tonight, but something as stupid as a girl flirting with Exer was enough to set him back. And that doesn’t even have anything to do with—
So he really is just looking for excuses to stay sad. He really must not want to get better at all.
He makes his way back to the kitchen and grabs a bottle of liquor, instead.

I've been reading this over and over again I love it I love it I loveitIloveitIloveit one of the fics I regret stalling reading which I had for months until I decided "hey this is one of my favorite authors in the jd fandom it can't be too bad" and turns out HOLY SHIT IRS AWQSTTIEJNEJSIJHnewjhbbbbbbbb AHHHHh ahhhhhhh anyways this fic taught me what the word bile means!! So not only is this fic good it's also educational. Excuse the grammar and the lack of commas. As well as periods(?).

This is, like, somewhat poetic and just so, soo beautiful, I'm envious. It's very well paced and gorgeously written, and pretty in character (though I could be wrong, I mean, I'm on the fourth book rn) for both Sally and Darrell.
I'm a massive Sally/Darrell shipper so reading this piece of literature always makes me happy.
