Conner groans, curling forward over his stomach with his head in his hands. “Where’s this?”
“Oklahoma.” Not even close to home. “Wanna tell me what you're doing in Oklahoma in the middle of a field?”
Conner waves a hand. “Was with Tim. It gets fuzzy after that.” He sighs, pulling his eyes open to stare at him blearily. “Oklahoma?”
“Oklahoma,” Clark confirms, and decides it’s safe to approach now. There are three cows sitting around him, and they blink at him with the same kind of I-guess-this-is-happening confusion as Conner. “At least you found some friends.”

Clark shrugged. “Well we think he’s around sixteen biologically. But he was grown in a tube in a matter of a couple months. And has only been out of the pod for a month or so. Why?”
“Moro reflex.” Was all Bruce said as he continued watching the boys spar.
“What?”
“Moro reflex,” He repeated. “The startle reflex newborns have when they fall or get scared. They throw their arms up on instinct to clutch to their parent. It goes away after a few months. Then when they get older and start walking their instinct changes to put their arms down to catch themselves.”
“Okay?” Clark said slowly. “Now that you explain it, yeah. I remember that when Jon was a baby.”
“Superboy still has his Moro reflex.”

Superman hates Conner. He's never said as much, but his constant criticism of his clone after missions speaks for itself.
Conner doesn't hate Superman, he just wants to stop being terrified of him, but that's just how it's been since the League pulled him from Cadmus four months ago. By October, Tim Drake has had enough and sics Batman on the Man of Steel to get him to ease up on his teammate.
Clark hasn't been helping Superboy be a better hero. He doesn't know him at all. When he promises Conner things will be different, it takes Conner a while to believe him.
Is 365 days enough time to change so much?

So after that, it becomes a bit of a habit. Krypto drops something at his feet, sits there, and stares up at Kon until he fixes it. Krypto has brought him a wide variety of things, some things that Kon isn’t sure how the dog broke, and some things Kon isn’t really sure how to fix, but he never expected Krypto to bring him his younger brother.
