Delightfully unsettling story that picks up after S2E10. Mark awakens to find himself in one of the testing rooms on Lumon’s lowest floor. Dr. Mauer explains that both Mark and Gemma have been recaptured, and gives Mark a choice: he can let Gemma’s testing continue until, in a few months, she outlives her usefulness to the company and they kill her to retrieve her chip… or Mark can take her place, and eventually suffer the same fate— but Mauer promises that Gemma will be allowed to leave. Mark obviously chooses the second option.
Chapter 9: IMark and OMark have a nightmare and an honest conversation. Lumon leaves the lights off all day, at least until a surprise visitor shows up.
