THIS IS A REWORKED VERSION OF "TEMPEST" - after some comments, I wanted to keep the soul of the story, but make it more scientifically plausible. While there are still probably some inaccuracies, I still hope this isn't as messy as before.

He throws the car in park and removes the key before leaning forward slightly to rest his forehead on the steering wheel. The car shakes as the kids scramble out of it, slamming the doors closed behind them. Each resulting WHAM sets off fireworks behind Steve’s closed eyelids.
He just needs a minute. One minute of silence. Then, he’ll go inside to wrangle the kids and clean up before Mrs. Byers gets back.
A hand lands on his shoulder and he jumps, whipping his head to see who’s touching him. Pain floods over the left side of his head and down through his neck and shoulders. He presses a hand into his left eyebrow, trying to chase the pain away with the pressure.
Dustin still sits in the passenger seat next to him. His hand tightens on his shoulder, eyes blown wide.
“Steve, hey, you okay?”

His dawdling, unwanted accomplice in the business of misery swept up the trash bin in one hand and walked it over to Jon, placing it on his desk. He pushed his prize forward, with a not-insignificant amount of jazz handsiness. Jon felt any last dash of respect towards Martin die from prolonged famine. With a quickness, the archivist snatched the can, moved it to the floor, slunk to his knees, made eye contact with the most useless ass he’d ever met, and proceeded to scream out the contents of his stomach."
A story about three horrible migraines and the miserable wretch who suffers through them.
