Lao Wen’s particular complex mix of personality trait and trauma meant that he could never just ask for what he needed, nor could he just let someone take control. So there needed to be an excuse. A fight. A fight that he could lose.

Summary
Canon Divergence AU: Amidst the confrontation in the forest, Xiao Lanhua is a fraction too late in switching bodies with Dongfang Qingcang. Ronghao's attempt to kill Dongfang Qingcang misses his intended target and hits Xiao Lanhua instead. They switch bodies, leaving Dongfang Qingcang the one gravely wounded and Xiao Lanhua fighting desperately to keep him alive.
This is my fanfic for the LBFAD mini bang and there is a gorgeous accompanying artwork/comic by the wonderful Fahrennheit.

Summary
Prince Jin sends Tian Chuang to attack Ghost Valley, seeking the key to the World's Armoury. Betrayed by his rivals, the Valley Master is captured and brought to the palace in chains, where Prince Jin decrees that he will be married to Zhou Zishu as a low-ranked concubine. Tasked with forcing his new husband to give up the location of the armoury key, Zhou Zishu didn't bank on the Valley Master being quite so attractive - or so obnoxiously charming. As their initial distrust gives way to a growing connection, Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing begin to consider the possibility of a life outside of the Valley and Tian Chuang - if they can figure out a way to escape Prince Jin.

Wen Kexing gives a shaky little laugh, “The more you say that the less I believe you, Ah Xu.”
“Be quiet and keep your eyes closed,” Zhou Zishu snaps back.
An attack leaves Wen Kexing temporarily without his sight and dependent on Zhou Zishu's care. Neither of them takes easily to vulnerability. They find a way through.

Luo Fumeng looked back at Zhou Zishu. “You swear to me that you will not harm him?”
“My word is my honor,” he bit out. “Do you really need me to repeat it?”
“You hadn’t seen him when you promised not to touch him,” she said bluntly and, well—fine, she had a point.
“I swear,” Zishu said, “that this man will live the life of a favored wife for as long as it’s in my power to protect him.”
That seemed to have stunned Wen gongzi, in turn, into silence. He openly gaped at Zishu. Luo Fumeng cleared her throat, giving Zishu a pointed look.
“And,” he said, making no attempt to hide his irritation, “I swear on the blood of all the men who died for me today that I will never make the slightest attempt to fuck him.”
At that, Wen gongzi stopped gaping. His eyes snapped up to Zhou Zishu’s with what looked like—anger?
