Aventurine took in a shaky breath, blinking back tears.
I know, I can’t ever be good enough for him, and he will never ever love me back, but please, could you please let me pretend that I am? Just for a minute, let me slip into those shoes, until the pain goes away, until I can breathe without it hurting again, until it stops hurting whenever I think about it.

As much as he appreciated the concern expressed by this unknown vigilante (puddle guy), Peter needed somewhere he could collect his thoughts.

Bruce had spent the last month and a half creating some sort of truth serum to help interrogate criminals. Tim has helped him on the most part of it, he knew how everything worked and everything about the effects it had, that’s why he was so sure they would test it out tonight.
He just wasn’t expecting the serum to be tested out on him.
Or the story which Tim is under a truth serum influence and spills his guts out in a long trauma dumping monologue

The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”
