Ratio looked over to Jade's side to see a man with blond hair, bejeweled eyes, and that same branding on his neck he had been unable to forget for the last Amber Era staring straight at him.
Even the man looked surprised for a second before his expression melted into a shit-eating grin that gave a brief glimpse at his sharpened canines.
You have got to be kidding him.
“Oh? Do you two already know each other, doctor? Well then that makes the process much easier,” Jade spoke up, "I would like to introduce you to the Stoneheart’s newest member, Aventurine. You two will be working together for quite some time, so get comfortable."

Hephaestion freezes mid-smile, the words looping in his head.

Hephaestion waves a dismissive hand. “That was over a decade ago. We only lasted a month before we figured out we were better off as bros.”
Hephaestion apparently can’t even be friendly with anyone without someone assuming he’s cheating on Mydei. If that’s the case, what happens when he actually sets his sights on someone? The poor hypothetical person would think they’re competing with Mydei—and most people would back off immediately.
Well. Hephaestion can’t have that, can he?

"It's early, obviously," Hyacine said, her brows furrowed. "But the signs are all there. Somehow. To know for certain, we'd have to check again later."
"I'm not pregnant!" Mydei shrieked, his voice oddly high-pitched. Around the clinic, other patients turned to look at him.
Mydei took a long, deep breath. Then, stiffly, he repeated himself. "I am not pregnant."
Or, approximately four months after Amphoreus welcomes the new dawn, Mydei wakes up with an odd golden mark burned directly into his abdomen, identical to the symbol of Worldbearing.
Naturally, he does not, in fact, ask Phainon about this phenomenon. Instead, he discusses with the Trailblazer, obtains terrible advice, and goes on the worst railroad trip of his life.
