Summary
Waking up in a Dungeons and Dragon daydream was not what Eddie expected to happen after he died. Not that remembering what came before was easy- but being where he is feels like a miracle. Even if he's constantly in a battle of realizing some things are much more familiar than he'd like, and some things aren't familiar at all.
Getting used to having wings and a tail and claws is one thing. Getting used to Steve Harrington looking like an actual angel is another.Stranded in this other world, Eddie has to contend with what he's become, how he became it, the various mysteries of the caves he came from, the darker details of his new reality, and most importantly; if he can somehow go back.

He finds her on Friday, the 18th of November, 1983. She's a small kid, out in the woods and the freezing cold, the first time he's ever seen a girl with hair that short. His parents are leaving for some business trip in the morning. He is going to be alone.

Standing here in a pharmacy that should be empty and dead, in pajamas Maggie hasn't seen in years, in skin that's seen those years, the tangle in her chest suddenly eases. Just a little. Just enough for her to suck a breath in and steady herself. Or try to, at least- the voices seem distant but a tandem, and they're ones she knows. Ones she's missed without even realizing it entirely. Daryl's voice. And then, Glenn's.
It all feels so far away- feels like so much, as she stands there staring at scars she's supposed to earn over the next two years. Her bare feet are filthy. The morning is hot. Humid. Like it was two years ago. Like it is today.

Summary
Don’t be a Stranger-
An alternate timeline in which Steve finds Eleven before Hopper does, their relationship as found siblings, as well as Steve’s troubles from 1983 to 1986. Summary
Watching Steve sit alone that first day- even with his ex and her new squeeze crowding his table- former King of Hawkins High with his bruised up face and puppy dog eyes, and apparently, knight in shining armor tendencies, Eddie never stood a chance.
It's Jeff, in the end, that finally badgers Eddie enough to let Steve be dragged over to their table- into Hellfire, and Dungeons & Dragons, and hopefully right into Eddie's arms- after Steve intervenes to stop Jeff being harrassed in the halls.
Now Eddie just needs to figure out what he's going to do with all of it.
Aka a hellfire adopts Steve fic, because give the boy some friends (and a boyfriend).

"The Major's my father," Stebbins spits out the words at the wheels of the half-track rumbling on in front of them with what little energy is left in his body. The red rim of his eyelids glimmer as he looks up at the Major. "I'm his bastard."
Ray stares at him. The actual meaning of his words take some time to penetrate the coldness in his chest that's slowing all his thoughts, but when they do, he looks at the Major to see his reaction. When he sees that there is none, he looks back at Stebbins, and the awful, raw edges of his expression, and then back to the Major, hoping for Stebbins' sake, that the man at least fucking reacts. However, when he looks back at the Major, he is no longer there. Instead, a cavernous hole decides to open up beneath the half track with a roar not too dissimilar to that of the carbines, swallowing the entire vehicle whole.
A moment later, a great watery crash rings out from miles below them.
