“They were amazing,” Cosmos said, his visor bright, hands sweeping in a colorful arc against the black moon dust and dark sky. “Huge, like titans, but mechorganic. They migrated between nebulae in giant herds, always calling to each other with this signal like a harmonizing pulsar. You could pick it up halfway across the galaxy once you tuned your sensors right. Do you know what I’m talking about?”
“Yes,” Soundwave said reluctantly. He remembered the signal, most of all; he remembered untangling it from deep-space communications back when everything was simple, the eerie warble in the background noise singing through his aching processor.
He also remembered why it stopped.

Dead End knew that good things didn’t last. Boltheads might say scrap about the fleeting nature of happiness being only more reason to appreciate things you cared about while they were still around, but Dead End had figured out a long time ago that holding onto anything too hard only made it hurt worse when it was eventually gone.
He wasn't saying that he skipped out on the whole universe just to get away from Perceptor. Maybe, if anyone asked, he wouldn’t have been able to deny it without lying—but no one asked.

Getting kicked out of his frat halfway through the school year meant Fulcrum’s life was basically over. Also, he had nowhere to stay for Spring semester. “There’s an open room in my house, you should totally come live with me,” Misfire said, deep into a late night of cartoony video game violence.
“Oh, yeah, that would be awesome,” Fulcrum replied, with absolutely no intention of taking him up on it. He and Misfire weren’t friends. They didn’t even really know each other outside of Shoot Shoot Bang Bang; they just happened to go to college in the same New England town.
It wasn’t his first mistake. He could only hope it wouldn’t be his last. The house was a dump.

Quentin closed the till. “Why do you ask?”
“Because.” The customer’s smile broadened, or deepened, or darkened. “You’re cute, and I’d like to fuck you.”
Quentin laughed out loud at that—his brazenness, the sheer absurdity of the statement. How impossible it was to take him seriously. “Is that your best line?”
“Depends.” The customer tilted his head, a gesture at once predatory and playful—as though he intended simultaneously to promise danger and to assure Quentin that this was really all one big game the two of them were playing together. “Did it work?”
(Or: In which Quentin did get into Yale, and magic is not, in fact, real, but being seduced by Eliot Waugh nonetheless retains some sparkle-restoring properties.)

Summary
After years of fighting the Empire and trying not to lose all hope, Ahsoka Tano is thrown back in time to the invasion of Naboo. Now it seems like she’s the only one who can save the galaxy, and she’ll do it or die trying.
She may be disoriented, but this stagnant, not-yet-war-torn galaxy isn’t ready for her, either. What happens when Ahsoka—veteran soldier, Purge survivor, rebel agent—appears and starts tearing through a thousand years of corruption and Sith schemes?
Everything changes.
Now somehow the immensely adorable nine-year-old Anakin is her apprentice, and he’s not even her only apprentice. Maul is obsessed with her. She’s giving the Jedi Order a rude awakening. There might be a chance to stop Dooku from becoming a Sith. The Republic is falling apart in an entirely unfamiliar way. And that’s just the beginning.
Whether or not all this change will be a good thing remains to be seen.
