The coo-coo portion of his mind had been correct for once. He was trapped in a Christmas Carol situation. But the powers that be had given him a delightful role. To torment Ant, make him face the music. All he had to do was make sure he knew three ghosts were coming to do the same.
Spamton practically skipped to the liquor cabinet. He poured a celebratory drink. His Christmas wishes had been answered and he was going to relish every moment. He chugged his first glass and poured another. He dreamed up ways he could take advantage of the situation as he swirled the amber liquid. He wasn’t beamed a lot of instructions. He sneered.

He hooked a lazy finger around one. “What, these things? Well… we're all a puppet to our purpose, aren’t we?” As if in response, the threads went taut around his neck, forcing his chin unnaturally upwards. “Bet your strings are even tighter.”
Tenna swallowed hard. A million angry questions rattled his casing but his tongue stilled at the sight of the strings. They led Spamton back into the living room. Tenna slowly followed.
“Hey! That's enough!” Tenna finally found his voice, shakily forcing it out of his speakers. “You owe me some answers.”
“Sorry, Ant. I'm just your little mailman tonight. I've got a message.”
“A message?”
“You're going to be visited by three Ghosts of Christmas.”
It sounded ridiculous, such a whimsical phrase leaving Spamton’s mouth in his gruff tone. But Spamton’s smirk vanished as he spoke.
“Are we really doing this?” Tenna whined.
