"How're you feeling?" He tries to go for a... Tentatively enthusiastic tone. The Dark Lord turns to actually look at him. She squints, and tilts her head, as if studying him in a new light...
"I'm not." Then she just flops backwards onto the ground. "Nooooot even a little."
Hm. Well, that's... Good? Her word choice is still as irreverent as ever, but her voice is flat, nothing like the booming excitement or rage, rapidly fluctuating but always at 100%, that he'd been getting used to.
It's really just the thing she actually said that's concerning, but she's probably just being dramatic about feeling a little less strongly about everything now. She'll learn! It's just new. She doesn’t understand that this is necessary.
But she looks pretty harmless now! Which was the whole point. He'd done something she didn't like and she's not even killing anyone!!

Or, The Dark Lord gets her code deleted, in a move that pretty much nobody wanted, especially not her, to devastating consequences.

Summary
Chosen stared at the mangled corpse of his former best friend.
Staring down at what was supposed to be his carved-out grave, a gracious bed gifted to him by the earth itself.
And at the center of it was Dark.
Almost six years had passed since he last saw him.
Chosen would be lying if he said those years hadn’t been eventful. Life just kept unraveling one surprise after another at him.
Well it looks like life was about to throw him one last surprise when he hears a loud bang from downstairs.

in which, six years after his death, the Dark Lord unexpectedly returns at their shared home, alive and...not so well actually. A re-write of the TDLL AU except it's a multi-chapter fic now yey.
