Maelle grew up on stories of the Continent: Gustave's stories, from his childhood spent among the Gestrals before he came to Lumière. Thanks to him, she may be the single best prepared Expeditioner since the days of Search and Rescue. She knows what kinds of danger she should be expecting when she joins Expedition 33. The old man who finds Expedition 33 on the beach, and the slaughter that follows, is not one of those dangers.
...so why does it seem like Gustave knows something about that man—and about their Expedition as a whole—that he isn't telling her?

”Drink from me,” Gustave says like it’s that simple, and Verso’s heart – a raw, feral thing that barely beats as it is – screeches to a sudden halt.
His jaw drops and he gapes at Gustave. ”No. No, no, you’re not serious.”
Gustave isn’t fazed by it, at all.”
In which Verso’s a vampire, the Expedition is over and Gustave finds him in the Lumiére Gardens and makes an offer. Includes mutual pining, blood-drinking and them being completely stupid about each other.

Dennis Whitaker was raised to be ashamed of what he was, of who he was. Omegas were better kept hidden, out of sight and out of mind, until the time came to use them. He spent his heats alone, locked away in one of the sheds on the farm. Nobody to help or hold him, nobody to tell him it was going to be okay. He just wanted it to be okay.
Running away from Broken Bow was the best decision he had ever made.
Even if that meant struggling to get by, to make it through medical school while also being technically homeless. He was alive, he was free.
Until an accidental pre-heat encounter lands him in the bed of two much older alphas. Alphas who also happen to be the lead attendings for his ER rotation. Suddenly, a one-night stand turns into something far more complicated. Something capable of changing all of their lives for good.
If only their stubbornness would stop getting in the damn way.

Summary
Dennis believes in minor, harmless truths. Little white lies that save everyone around him from dealing with his existence.
But more omega patients start being admitted to the Pitt for the exact medication he's been using. His two alpha attendings keep asking questions they shouldn't be. He's starting to lose track of the lies as the threat of being known grows.
Or I succumb to peer pressure and write a secret Omega Dennis fic instead of growing a backbone.
