Summary
It has been twelve years since King Thane united the clans under his banner and slayed the Mad King, freeing Armello from the poison of the Rot. Having married his friend, Amber of the Rabbit Clan, there has been peace and stability not seen in the kingdom for a long time. With three children together, and a fourth along the way, Thane has come to terms with all the sacrifices it took to get here and is devoted to his duty and family.
However, a letter comes from someone that King Thane has not heard from in twelve years: his old lover, Scarlett of the Bandit Clan. The original woman he loved and wanted to make his queen but disappeared right after the end of the final battle which broke Thane's heart. She warns him of a new Rot infestation and asks for his aid in dealing with the threat. Despite being reluctant to leave his family, King Thane goes forward with his forces to assist his old flame in stopping the Rot once more, and maybe get some answers that his heart has been longing for.
