It helps that he's one of the most bearable alphas you've ever met, affable and kind, and he never judges you for being a rare omega in the hero line of work. It also helps that he's painfully, absurdly hot.
You're perhaps never more grateful for his nature than when the building housing your lab collapses with the two of you in it, and as the walls and floors of your lab crumble, so does the suppressor device that keeps your heats in check and your hormones under control. Your breath comes in waves, barely containing the thrumming under your skin. You are close, much closer than you remember being minutes ago, warm breath intermingling as you stare at one another with matching looks of desperation. It's too bright to look at directly - you sidestep his questions. "...and what happened to you wanting to pretend?"
"If I really wanted that, would I be sitting here, staring your lips like they're a lifeline?" He asks gruffly.
You open your mouth, then close it. Try again. "....I thought you said we should get control over -" Your eyes dip as his teeth catch against his bottom lip, "Whatever is happening.”
Caleb swallows hard, his voice dropping to a near whisper. "Control? You already have it. You might as well be holding the leash. Just…let it go.”
___________________Loosely based after that one text in game where MC says that Caleb is the most important person to her, and he responds with "I know". To me, that informed us that He knows, and she knows he knows. I crashed out and wrote nearly 20k trying to make them have that conversation. Enjoy!

You twirl the gun around your fingers—a trick he’d taught you once upon a time, after way too much pleading, if it’s so dangerous, why do you know how to do it, teach me okay, gege, gege, geeeeeee—then aim it at him with both hands wrapped around it. The first pose he’d taught you, when he’d taken you to the shooting range. Gentle hands around yours as he spoke softly in your ears on the best position to take, how to best read the target with your eyes. Your hands pantomime an exaggerated shooting gesture, gun jerking upward as you pretend to pull the trigger.
“Bam,” you say playfully, before blowing at the end of the gun like those old Western movies you used to watch together.
“Oh, and there she goes, a perfect shot.” Caleb puts a hand to his chest as though in pain, but his mouth is curled upward in an indulgent smile. “Wounded,” he sighs, “right in the heart.”
“Man down, man down,” you say in a sing-song voice as you circle him, and he puts his hands up in surrender.
