Summary
Yuuta shifts uncomfortably on the futon. He’s hyper aware of the eyes fixated on him. Despite the nonchalance he attempts to give off, his hands betray him as they start to clam up.
He should have known this would be the eventual outcome, but in his desire to ensure Toge had an evening with their friends where they could behave like normal teenagers, he had thrown caution to the wind and agreed to this dumbass game.
“Truth or dare, Yuuta. This isn’t rocket science. Just pick one” Maki snaps, her patience wearing thin.

Maki sits seiza, some long-forgotten instinct pulling her to her knees, and Mai goes willingly with, sitting with her legs tucked to one side, her summer uniform dress pulling over her shoulders and chest, hips and thighs. She was too skinny, back home. Maki feels the relief rush over her in waves, slamming against her ribcage in time with her heart. Another year, the beats tell her. We both survived another year.
