I'm currently studying in this field and flinched like an abused child but it's incredibly fun! Also helps me see how (although fantasized) a Chinese centered academic community works, I haven't read that many articles about it (I'm just now learning Chinese and also my field is like the complete opposite way, Andean ethnohistory is literally the other way).
Either way, amazing writing, increíble use of author's style and a great way of getting back into reading fanfics.

Summary
The Wen were all monsters. Nie Mingjue’d said it a thousand times and meant it every time. It was why he’d pushed for miezu for Wen Ruohan’s direct relations, for the rest of the Wen sect members being put into work camps and all the remaining Wen outside of it to be confined. It was what they deserved.
It wasn’t until he stared down at a terrified, crying toddler protected by a terrified, desperate kid (he knows Wei Wuxian is the same age as Nie Huaisang, it doesn’t matter, they’re both kids) that he questioned whether that made him a monster too.

Doflamingo had big plans in the works. He would have the Op-Op fruit soon enough, and then they would be moving on Dressrosa. He knew the Marines were likely to interfere, but he had a plan for that too. Monkey D. Garp was a force to be feared, but Doflamingo had found his weakness, and it lived unprotected on Dawn Island.
Monkey D. Luffy would make for an excellent hostage.
