So begins Shen Yuan’s balancing act of completing these nonsensical missions, hiding his identity, and staying on the good side of the super tsundere, cat-like man known as Shen Jiu, who keeps saying stuff like ‘I’ll kill you if I find out you’re a demon’.
TDLR; this whole fic is an elaborate excuse to write catboy!SY going into heat.

It really happens entirely by accident, is the thing.
It is not Shen Qingqiu’s fault that one of Binghe’s subjects, in an apparent effort to curry favor with the Demonic Emperor– presumably to acquire an exclusive trade agreement for the admittedly very high quality Three Horned Plums Of Plenty he peddles– had gifted a very particular plant with the collection of rare treasures that he had procured.
It is also not his fault that that very particular plant happens to be the Blossoming Lotus Of Everlasting Joy, a terribly named plant that blooms precisely once every nine months, and that, when ground into a paste with water acquired from a very specific cave in a very specific mountainous region nearly as far south as one can get in the demon realm, can guarantee a couple can successfully… procreate.
Regardless of their respective… equipment.
Or: Shen Qingqiu and Luo Binghe venture into the world of planned pregnancy.
