He could hear a muted version outside, well before he approached the inn, but convinced himself it would fine.

Rodney sort of not-quite-accidentally discovers that Lt. Colonel John Sheppard, leader of the military contingent of the Atlantis expedition, has a… kink.
Rodney is, maybe, not exactly an expert on the subject of kinks and fetishes. But he is a scientist. Something happening a couple times might be coincidence. But when it happens repeatedly, it’s a pattern. And patterns always mean something. Really, how could he be expected not to try and figure this one out?
The surprising part is realizing he’s into it, too.
