The werewolf smirked, his stance aggressive as he towered over her. "You and your little girlfriend," he spat, as if the word were something to be ridiculed. "You’ve got the younger ones thinking they don’t need the pack. Thinking they can just... ignore us. That’s not how this works."
"Ah," Wednesday said, her voice dangerously calm, her gaze as cold. "So it’s not about the younger werewolves needing support. It’s about your fragile masculinity—bloated, brittle, and as useful as a paper leash in a dog fight." Her words were steady and sharp, calm in the face of five werewolves.

Enid just wanted to be kind—to make the underclassmen feel wanted and less alone, to be the person she never had when she was a freshman. Wednesday, on the other hand, just wanted solitude and to enjoy her time with Enid in peace. She didn’t want to be dragged into pack politics she had no business being a part of.
What infuriated Wednesday the most was having to watch Enid suffer under the weight of mistreatment—especially at the hands of those who were supposed to be her pack leaders.

Summary
From across the room, Yoko looked up from her laptop, eyes narrowing like a cat spotting prey. She pointed subtly at Enid and whisper-yelled, “Gay!” like she was delivering a stage cue.
Enid grabbed the closest thing to her—a sneaker—and hurled it across the room. It missed Yoko by an inch and smacked the bed beside Ajax’s shoulder. He ducked with a startled yelp.
“Hey! Warning shot next time!” he protested.
Enid grinned sheepishly and returned to the phone, cheeks burning just enough that she turned her face into the bean bag. Wednesday didn’t say anything else. Enid didn’t reply to that last line either.
She just smiled into the soft fabric and held the phone a little closer to her chest.
