As if by lessening the distance he could read Sherlock better, could peer into his soul and find whatever it was he was looking for. "Have you ever even hurt a person before?"

Rowena slipped from his embrace easily without disturbing Sam, watching as he curled himself around her now abandoned pillow, nose buried in her scent. She pulled on one of his flannel shirts, doing up the buttons, and a pair of his boxers, rolling the hem so they didn’t entirely swamp her.
She winces when the door creaks as she opens it, but thankfully Sam doesn’t stir, and Rowena eases the door shut behind her, turning around-
-only to come face to face with Castiel, who was exiting Dean’s room across the hall, at the exact same time.
The angel was dressed in a pair of soft flannel pajama bottoms Rowena had definitely seen Dean in before, and a worn Led Zeppelin tour t-shirt that was a half size too big for him- also clearly Dean’s. He’s even got slippers on, for goddess’s sake.
