    Shadow might have survived being atomized by the Eclipse Cannon's explosion, but that doesn't mean he got off scot-free.

    The collision was as brutal and electrifying as he’d expected, and he barely noticed the growing darkness in the world around him as his eyes slipped shut, weak and overloaded from the force of the impact. It took him a while, apparently, to come to. “Ugh,” he groaned, holding his head. “1.21 gigawatts.”

    It was then that he noticed the other hedgehog sprawled on the ground next to him, knocked out cold. Evidently, he hadn’t recovered as quickly as Sonic had. Which made sense, the guy had been fighting all those GUN agents before Sonic and his team had shown up at all. It was only natural that he’d be tired.

    It was strange, but Sonic felt strangely drawn to him. Maybe it was the fact that he’d never met another hedgehog like himself before. Maybe it was the amazing power he’d seen from him. Maybe it was the fact that he’d finally found someone who could keep up with him.

    Shadow is knocked out in the fight in Tokyo. This changes things.
