Full on, Marius-stalks-Cosette story that no one knew they needed. A what-if story where Cosette doesn’t return Marius’ feelings, which have now turned into sinister obsession.
Recommend because this author goes above and beyond in their work!

Sequel to “The Great Nightbird and the Osprey”, a fantastic crossover story of Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera, which features an underrepresented pairing of The Phantom/Erik and Éponine (works so well in this story).

Summary
Dying of love, Erik emerges from the depths for what is to be the final time, only to stumble upon a young woman, gravely wounded, against the wall of the Opera House. When Éponine wakes to find herself in the house on the lake, with no memory of who brought her from the barricade only to leave her outside of the Opera House, she is at first wary of this man who has tended her wounds, who covers his face and moves in that noiseless way she associates with members of the dark Parisian underbelly—but not wary for the reasons he expects.
This character-driven story explores the ways in which Erik and Éponine both complement and brilliantly contrast each other. Like mirrors, they force each other to confront truths about themselves and their world, while also radiating some hopeful light as they provide each other with opportunities to heal and grow. In the process, an unlooked-for relationship organically unfolds, which they must learn to navigate without unwittingly hurting one another.

Probably my favorite and in-character crossover of Phantom of the Opera and Les Misérables! This is more specifically a slow-burn Phantom/Erik and Éponine romance, where both of them grow as characters. Great themes overall and moments that’ll make you laugh and cry! Totally recommend for anyone who wants to understand these characters on a deeper level!
