Summary
It starts with the Stanley Cup photo, the famous one of Scott publicly coming out. The next few are equally as loud. A picture of Scott during the NHL speech only a month after that insane day. A few of them in what must be Scott’s apartment, Kip reading, Scott covered in what looks to be blueberry mush, looking the most dejected that Ilya has ever seen him.
The ones that make Ilya ache are the simpler ones. Scott drinking with Kip’s circle of friends. A picture of Scott and Elena arguing wildly over what looks to be a game of pool. Scott perched in Kip’s lap with a neon “Kingfisher” sign casting a neon glow over them as they kiss each other with smiles wide enough that it looks like there's nothing that could separate them.
He knows it isn't a fair emotion but he feels a sorrow wash over his body in an uncontrollable wave.
Ilya longs for that.
Or,

Summary
The syrupy heaviness in his brain feeds him an idea that he wouldn’t have been brave enough to voice previously. Something tells him that he’s not going to be turned down either.
“I mean, I could help you out with that if you want?” Steve delights in the way that Eddie goes stiff under his hands, not in the same way as before.
He doesn’t really think before he swings a leg over Eddie’s hips so that he can settle himself fully into his lap.
“Come on. We’re best friends, aren’t we? You could take care of me and I could take care of you, right?”

Summary
“Best friends,” Eddie repeats the words like they're foreign. Like he’s never heard them before.
“Yeah, you know that,” Buck insists, he’s tempted to reach out, wants to pull Eddie into him, but he’s not sure if that would help or hurt right now. “We’re BuckandEddie,” he adds for good measure. That’s what everyone always says. It’s an easy answer when they’re acting ways that others deem bizarre.
Eddie is silent, seemingly processing what Buck just said. He can’t be sure, but Buck feels like he just failed some test he didn’t know he was taking. That was not the right answer.
“What exactly do you think we’re doing here, Buck?” He demands, gaze steely as he finally meets Buck’s eye. His tone is so cold it sends a shiver down Buck’s spine. Do you know how much Christopher misses you? How could you? You’re not around. All traces of golden syrupy warmth from earlier in the afternoon are gone. “Are you fucking all of your best friends bare?”
