“Because I only need one.” Macaque responded, wanting to focus on teaching the kid but reluctantly gave him a house tour,
“Nah I need at least two. Being comfy is important.” MK smiled.
Macaque recalled the conversation, now agreeing with the kid, one pillow is uncomfy; perhaps it was even lonely (but he would never admit it). He gripped the pillow harder with one hand, pulling his sheets over him to try and envelop himself, trying to disappear so his thoughts would disappear with him.

A man and a woman with glowing white eyes watching from afar. A knock that comes every night no matter where you hide. Claws scraping just outside your shelter, and creatures that linger deep within the dark, forgotten tunnels beneath the world.
What you don't realize is that you aren't just observing them. Some of them have noticed you.
As days blur into nights, their curiosity sharpens into something darker. They linger longer. They come closer. You're risking your life, despite never meaning to, just to understand what they are. And they seem to want the same from you.
They want to see how far you'll go. How long you'll last. And what you'll become when your mind finally starts to break.

The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”
