Ted doesn’t mean to stake a claim on her, but once his hand was on her back, it felt so natural to guide her to the door like that. And it seemed to help, even after he slid it a bit lower than was necessary. He wanted to present a united front, but also to confirm to Malcolm that his advances were unwelcome. How better to show that than showcasing Rebecca accepting his touch where she had not allowed Malcolm’s?

Summary
Ted Lasso has returned to Golden Oak, Kansas for the first time in fifteen years to help his mother Maggie, on her farm.
Rebecca Welton is recently divorced and is trying to take her life back in her hands, starting with an impulsive trip to Golden Oak to take riding lessons from Maggie Lasso, retired Dressage rider.
When Maggie offers Rebecca a place to stay on their land, in the house Ted grew up in, it seems they have no choice but to form a friendship. But with Rebecca only in town for a few months, and Ted eagerly anticipating his next move, it's not smart to push things further than that.
But maybe this summer, it's time to forget what's smart and focus on what they want instead.
