Summary
The Jedi Temple Commissioner is tired of requisitioning Jedi over-robes. Every time a Jedi gets into a fight, they throw off their robes. And more than half the time, by the time the fight is finished, the robe is stolen/destroyed/forgotten about and left behind. The commissioner has had enough.

“Shh. . .” Anakin says, gathering the younglings around him, reminding Obi-wan of all those whispered arguments where he had insisted to Anakin that yes, he was good with children, he’d be just fine teaching Ahsoka. He can almost feel the terror rising off Anakin from the hologram; Anakin doesn’t know what’s happening either. But he isn’t letting the younglings feel it. “You need to listen to me very carefully, okay? This--” his voice breaks, “--this is going to be scary. But you have to be calm, and strong. Just like Master Yoda taught you.”

“Tea!” says the other Padawan brightly. “I’m performing a tea ceremony for my Master, one that originates from her home world. It’ll be the first time I sit foveo with her!”
She says that word— foveo— as if it should mean something to Anakin.
It does not.
Anakin learns some things about the Jedi. He doesn't get it, until he kind of does.

"A carbonite slab was lashed to the wall to keep it from falling. The being inside appeared to be a male human or near human around the same age as Din. Their face was almost peaceful unlike most beings encased in carbonite. There also appeared to be grievous wounds in the chest, gut, and upper left thigh. The slab was older and not as sleek as the kind Din once used. A quick check of the being's vital signs showed whoever this was still lived--if barely. Din pulled up the being's chain code on the data display, and froze.
The read out clearly stated: Jaster Mereel."
Or Din finds a "collectible" art piece that turns out to be a thought dead once Mand'alor.

Summary
Shmi Skywalker was sold before Anakin returned to Tatooine. Several years later, she was kidnapped by slavers and despaired of ever being free. Happily, the Axxilan Anti-Pirate Fleet intervened, rescuing Shmi and many others. A lonely young officer and a woman who believes herself alone in the galaxy strike up an unlikely friendship which deepens over the years-- until that shattering day when Shmi discovers she wasn't as alone as she thought.
