Summary
In retrospect, when Jonathan knew, it was obvious. So obvious he couldn’t believe he hadn’t seen it before. It kept him up late into the night, alone, thinking of all the times Edward had shown his hand. Playing poker with all his chips on the table, knowing he’d lose in the end, but still refusing to fold.
True masochism – Or maybe he just honestly couldn’t help it. The latter idea hurt Jonathan more.

Summary
Need, he thought sourly; such a useful tool. But so dangerous, and so fickle. One could easily discover they hadn’t ever needed something they thought they’d die without, or that they’d needed something all along and never realized until it’d gone away.
Jonathan was driving him out into the countryside to kill him. And Edward was letting him.
What the hell had he gotten himself into?

Summary
“Well, it's just,“ Edward snatched a pencil up off the desk, rolling it casually between finger and thumb. “That you’ve got a little something…”
He reached out with the pencil, stretching his body over the desk. His gloved hand curved over the edge. His pencil slipped under the side of Jonathan’s collar, nudging it down, aside, catching right on the tooth-shaped bruises.
“...Right here.”
