Summary
Wilhelm stepped onto the pool deck and gasped, his mouth falling open in shock.
The most beautiful boy he’d ever seen was standing there in the shallow end, playing and singing with a group of preschoolers who were giggling and shrieking delightedly. A mess of damp curls flopped across the boy’s forehead, brown eyes sparkling and a grin stretched across his face as he sang. As Wilhelm watched, the boy lifted a blonde haired toddler in the air, tossing her up and catching her as the little girl giggled. Wilhelm tried very hard not to focus on the way the muscles in the boy’s arms flexed as he lifted the girl effortlessly. A second later he forgot it entirely when the boy stood up to his full height, displaying his toned chest, rivulets of water sluicing down his tan skin and lightly defined abs. Wilhelm’s mouth went dry.

“Are you alright?” Wilhelm asks, doing his best to hide his amusement.
“I am not going to redo this,” Simon responds, which, Wilhelm realizes, doesn’t really answer his question, “I am not. The fucking river of blue death is a part of this painting now. If the teacher says anything I’ll tell them my soul told me to spill the paint because ‘melancholy feelings are messy’ or some shit like that.”
“Is that how you’ve managed to pass this class thus far?” Wilhelm wonders. It would kind of make sense. That was the kind of inner-monologue-deep-feelings-translated-into-art bullshit Kaye would eat up, and obviously Simon's artistic abilities left something to be desired.
“Honestly? Pretty much, yeah.”

Summary
Simon was never at Hillerska, so Wilhelm does not meet him there. Wilhelm stays in the closet and accepts his role as Crown Prince. He attends Oxford University but his feelings are eating away at him and he struggles increasingly to reconcile himself with a future he has committed himself to but basically doesn't want at all. Then he meets Nils again and decides that maybe he will attend one of those 'bears and twinks' parties that was mentioned to him before. Nils decides to make Wilhelm's first party 'twinks only'.
What happens in short: Wilhelm meets Simon, and he feels things he's never felt before.
Rated teen and up because there is no explicit sexual content.
