‘Sometimes, I feel—’ Jungkook swallows, gathering courage. ‘I feel like I’m being absorbed. When you look at me.’
It is quiet—in that room, in that building, in Busan, on earth, in the universe. Until it’s not.
‘I…’ comes Yoongi’s answer, ‘I can't help but always see you.’
Jungkook can feel Yoongi’s eyes roam over his face, confirming what his lips just said. ‘Do you?’ He shifts even closer, gearing up to close the last distance. ‘Do you, hyung?’
His hand that had remained still against Yoongi’s arm begins to move of its own accord, thumb grazing over gooseflesh and skin much, much softer than anticipated. ‘Do you really see me?’

Summary
Jimin feels dumb. Dumb and too young and all too ridiculous. His bow tie is too tight. He's embarrassed about his old dress shoes. And from up there, his cheeks probably look even more chubby than they already are.
This is not at all how he hoped it would be. Jimin feels his cheeks heat up as he remembers dreaming about this night, hoping he would end up with Yoongi on the dance floor. In his fantasies, they would stand close, looking into each other's eyes. They would talk, and Yoongi would smile down at him, maybe even drawing him in, a hand on the small of his back as they'd laugh together.
Instead, he and one of his best friends ended up in this awkward situation.

“Yeah,” Yoongi finishes for him. “The wedding, the marriage, the…” it’s Yoongi’s turn to trail off this time. “Sometimes it just doesn’t feel right, doesn’t feel like…”
“All I want,” Jimin whispers, “is for you to be happy.”
It’s not a lie. Jimin just wishes Yoongi could be happy with him.
“Thank you, Jimin-ah,” Yoongi whispers. “I’m sorry for being so…”
“It’s okay,” Jimin replies, when Yoongi doesn’t finish. “I’m here for you.”
What are best friends for?
Yoongi snuggles closer, face tucked into Jimin’s neck. “I love you, Jimin-ah.”
Jimin doesn’t let himself cry, no matter how much he wants to. He holds Yoongi close, listens to his hyung’s breathing even out as he drifts to sleep. Yoongi’s words replay in his head, I love you.
