   Summary

   How do you survive loving someone?

   The world was very big and had too many things to concern oneself with, so Leonard had never imagined that he would ever raise such a question.

   He was not a particularly erudite person, not exceptionally strong, nor substantially beholden to the weight of pivotal decisions. The poet thought it was very reasonable to assume his answer would never matter to anyone but him—if even that.

   What truly mattered was what concerned you and what you chose to busy yourself with, and in that, Leonard could truly count his blessings.

   There were many who weren’t fortunate enough to even like the things they concerned themselves with, such as his former colleague and Seer teammate Klein. The stubborn bastard was endlessly busy and even more endlessly implicated in matters beyond Leonard’s ability to influence, nevermind help. 

   (And then, Mr. Fool fell asleep.

    

   His answer was No. The world has never lacked regrets or fools.

   If there ever was a way, it would still be outside the reach of him.

   It would never belong to angels, and had never belonged to man.)
