So yeah. Fuck you and fuck Sam, because he isn’t pouting. He’s just aware. He woke up, and there was nothing to do. When was there a moment in Dean's life where there was nothing to do? Never. There is always something. And now his mind is vacant of old anxieties, so he has to make some for himself because it feels just too damn suspicious. Being happy feels like you're being watched on days like these.
or Dean is having a bad day because retirement can be hard. Cas is there to comfort him, and maybe that makes Dean wanna choke himself out... in a good way?
I promise this is pretty cute, the angsty summary is just eye candy.
EDIT: This is new and improved because I am trying to sleep about a year later, and the awkward intro still made me cringe... so I scrapped it and got inspired by seafood. Bye bye!

Summary
This is a re-work of Season 12 moving forward. I always thought it was a mistake to bring Mary back. Dean never needed to look back in that sense. She never treated him like a child or helped heal the broken inner one. So I always thought, he should have been able to be happy and be a Dad.
I tried really hard to keep the cannon of everything that happened before the start of this work. But with that said, some stuff might just be wrong. I tried, I'm only human. I did my best but I'm sure I've missed a few things. I have read so many amazing works on here that I think some things from those have stuck in my brain and are now cannon =) Whoops.
