Summary
It’s funny, how circular unlife can be at times.
A year ago, Lacroix ordered the butcher to swing the sword down – and now, he is the one kneeling with blindfolded eyes.
And because Kindreds never change, Nines stands.

Summary
Looking at an old map of Beleriand, you may feel like Maglor ruled the tiny strip of land between the Little and the Greater Gelion – that would be the one labelled as “Maglor’s gap”, stuck between Himring and Thargelion; but in those times the Exiles held the Siege, encircling the Thangorodrim, and Maglor ruled the eastern link of the choking chain, from Lothlann to the northernmost foothills of the Ered Luin. I meant to ride as far north as I could, to where the Ered Luin almost met the great, red mountain range that was Morgoth’s stony kingdom.
We are not there yet. We are still leaving Himring, riding down the stony path with goat herds flanking us.
Finrod visits the Gap of Maglor, discovers life at the frontiers of the Noldorin realms is painted in shade of grey, and that some secrets should remain secrets.MAJ 09/13: After receiving many kind comments, I have decided to add a second part to this fic!
Maj 09/27: The second arc is finished! The Quest for the Secret reaches Middle Earth, and we meet a new narrator! -

Summary
I had not seen Prince Fëanaro Curufinwë for a very long time when he came to me, a crown of red and yellow flowers slightly ajar upon his brow, cheeks flushed pink by a glass too many. He was at that age when adults allow the young to take a taste; Fëanaro had, quite certainly, managed to steal more than that.
Young Fëanaro has much to unload from his young heart, and Irmo is always happy to oblige.

Summary
Beleriand had sang. Her waterfalls had been choruses of crystal upon rocks, her forests brimming with songs of nightingales. Valinor was only It; where I wandered I found no echoes of my sunken home, until I sought one of the primal woods of Oromë. I had been warned not to go there: shadows of broken things made home in the green shadows; feral things that could not be healed.
I hovered at the edge of the wood and in my hesitations pondered: was I broken enough to wander there?

Summary
I knew this statue almost as intimately as if it were my own face: my father in his youth, not yet fully grown, with Miriel’s ribbons woven into hair of stone. He looked heavenly, and as a child I had often begged my mother and grandfather to walk with me in the recollections of his wedding. For what greater fairytale could move my heart better than this one? Fëanaro Curufinwë was the most radiant part of my soul, and I longed to relieve his happiest memories.
Or: A Tale of how reality does not work that way.

Summary
Arda's end was prophesized and, with it, the birth of paradise. Rebirth there was, but the much desired heavens are still much awaited for.
In an Unmarred Arda ruled by Namo and Irmo, technology replaces magic, misfits are re-educated with heavy medication and everyone is severly controlled by an automatized system. Those who dare remember their past lives are forced to forget. But not all of those are ready to let go of their past.

She does not tell him that she approves, because she does not.
She does not tell him that she will help with revenge, because she does not know yet if she should.
But she tells him that she will follow him anywhere.
For one moment the anger recedes, and all she can read into his eyes is pain, loss and the uncertainty of one who knows the destination but not the way, and fear, so much fear he would drown; she knows she made the right choice.

For a full minute, the loremaster stands still over his desk. He is a master of the Lambengolmor, an erudite of almost unmatched skills and knowledge. Fëanaro considers correcting the whole thing, covering the entire offending pages with ink red as blood.
Ultimately, he dips his goose feather in crimson and writes two sentences before moving on.Students are expected to provide legible work. Thou shalt rewrite thine dissertation in proper Quenya.
