No, Mike Ross’s wisdom teeth don’t become a problem until he’s a second year associate at this insanely powerful law firm and the only person he has to list as an emergency contact when the dentist asks is Harvey Hot Stuff Specter. He may have even written that on the form. Seriously. Because the gas he breathed in before they yanked his teeth out was awesome sauce. And whatever they topped him up with afterwards was enough to blast him into orbit. He’s grinning a lot. And thanks to the wad of paper towels pressed to his face, he’s barely even drooling anymore.

“Yes, Mike.” Harvey says, summoning infinite patience. He cups the back of Mike’s head gently, brushing his thumb against his skin.
“Crocodiles can hibernate in frozen lakes, just stick their little noses out to breathe.” Mike mumbles a minute later. “That’s cool, huh?”
Harvey chuckles. “Alright, pack it up, Steve Irwin. Let’s go.”

Summary
The first thing Harvey noticed when he woke up was the weight.
A heavy, warm, dead-to-the-world kind of weight pressing against his back, pinning him in place. Not unusual. In fact, he’d missed it when he was stuck in Chicago with nothing but sterile hotel sheets and a silence so oppressive he’d resorted to FaceTiming Mike in the middle of the night like some teenager in a long-distance relationship.
But now, back home, reunited with the barnacle he called his boyfriend, Harvey remembered that there was a flip side.

Mike had crossed that line somewhere around his fourth drink, maybe his fifth, the exact number blurring into an impression of confidence and warmth that sat loose in his chest. He laughed too easily, leaned too close, talked with his hands like he always did when his thoughts ran faster than his mouth. Harvey watched him from the other side of the small round table, nursing a scotch and pretending he was not counting.
Mike had been celebrating. That was the official excuse. He had won an argument with Louis earlier that day, which Harvey privately considered less of a victory and more of a temporary ceasefire, but Mike had insisted it counted. Harvey had let him have it. A few months ago he would have shut this down before it started. A few months ago he would have left Mike to get plastered with Rachel and gone home alone. Things changed quietly, the way they tended to with them.
